Tri-State Rebel Members, Guests and Visitors:
The first Muster of 2012 went very well. A little cool, a little rain, and then a little sunshine, ahhhhhhh. Even so, everyone appeared to have a great time. Our January Muster was held at the Florida Gateway RV Resort in Jasper Florida, a new park still under construction. When finished, it will have as many as 150 RV sites with all the amenities of a premiere resort: a pool, exercise room, nature trail, horseback riding, fishing, cottages, club house, lake with a beach, and luxury RV sites with individual BBQ and covered spa, just to name a few. Raj Doobay, the owner, made every effort to meet our needs without hesitation. On behalf of the Chapter, thank you, Raj, and your staff for going above and beyond the call of duty to help ensure that our first-time Muster at your resort was as comfortable and successful as it could be. Also, a big thank you goes to our hosts, Ron and Myra Reichert, Bill and Louise Reid, George and Toy Bosley, and Dorothy Bradberry for all their hard work and team effort that assured we had a clean, comfortable and well organized place to eat, play games and socialize with friends, family and guests. We had a good time, good food, and lots of it. And let’s not forget to thank Algie for the Coffee. Well done team!
We also had an annual event, the Auction. The Chapter netted $512.80 as a result. Bill and Jean Cummins, Bill and Louise Reid and John & Selma Horton ran the event and those that donated those “extraordinary” auction items were the reason the auction was a huge success, not to mention that prepaid 5 night stay at the resort. The bidding was out of control!
We had 56 members present representing about 30 rigs, which did not include guests Jim and Nancy Barnes, friends of Winston and Joyce Posey, and Annette Callahan, guest of Pappy Smith. Algie’s sister, Lois, was also an early bird visitor. Lois has sent us cakes thru Algie in past and left us with another delicious one this time too. It was good to have Robyn Hamlington and Cecil (Cope) Copeland with us again who have been away for a while. Those of you who could not make it to the Muster; you were in our thoughts and missed.
Lastly, thanks to the new board for stepping up to serve. I know we will have another successful year with your leadership. Special thanks to our outgoing board members, Ron Reichert, Bill Ward and Algie Watts for their dedication, enthusiasm and leadership for the year 2011. Great job guys! I look forward to a great 2012 and hope to see you all at Sugarmill in March. Like always, thank you all for making our Chapter the welcoming Chapter it is.
